Jon's Constitution

This model had been severely damaged in a move and required a lot of work to restore it.

The main damage was to the masts and rigging. The job boom, flying jib boom, the upper
masts and all of the yards are missing.  Lower shrouds and rat lines are fine but all other
rigging is missing.  Half of the carronades on the upper deck are missing.  Other minor
components are also missing.

 Initially some work was done to clean up the deck, the hull and to remove remnants of the
rigging,  The deck and the hull below the waterline were varnished.

The missing guns were made and installed on the deck.

A jib boom, flying jib boom and sprit sail yard were made and installed on the bowsprit.
Once these items were in place the standing and running rigging required to support them
was installed.

Other missing items were made and installed.  This included a missing gunwale plank,
one of the hammock nettings, two chains at the mizzen mast and an upper gun port lid.

Looking down the deck.  The forward starboard shrouds have been released from their
dead eyes so that the supports for the hammock nettings could be installed.

Another stage of the restoration is complete.  All of the missing masts and yards have been created and are
ready to be rigged.  From the left you see the mizzen topmast and the three top gallant masts.  Then the
spanker boom and gaff followed by the yards for each mast.  On the right  side of the image are the studding
sail booms for the fore and main masts.
